Recently AOL and GMAIL have put into place a new policy for their customers regarding inbound email. If your email is not being received by an AOL or GMAIL user then run this simple test.
- Send the email as you normally do
- If the email does not arrive or you receive a bounce back message that includes HVU: B2 in the message then try to send your message again without your signature.
Apparently links within a signature are not acceptable by AOL or GMAIL receiving servers. Unfortunately, you don’t always receive a delivery failure message. If you are sending mail for the first time to these addresses then be sure to ask your recipient to reply to your first message.
Hope this helps those of you who don’t understand why your mail is not making it to the intended destination!
