Working at RGB has been awesome this summer. It has been everything I could have asked for! I really have learned a lot about working in the real world. Some of the responsibilities and contributions I have had the privlige of working on include about 20 websites - some were from start-to-finish, some I came in midway through. At the core of each project was CMS Joomla, in addition I used mysql, php, html, css, with each project. I also had the opportunity to attend many client meetings and I worked on the planning stages of some projects in addition to the development. Also contributed to internal project management and documentation for deployment of websites. I enjoyed working in a professional setting- creating websites for a real purpose opposed to projects and in the classroom. It has been invaluable to have the opportunity to attend client meetings and work in the planning stages beyond just programming. It has been a valuable asset to learn and work with CMS software. I think it takes the fundamentals that I have learned and applies them in a way that can be used more efficiently in web development for a business. |
